NAVY DAY 2025 - VIANA DO CASTELO

The military ceremony for Navy Day 2025 took place on May 17th in Viana do Castelo , in a ceremony presided over by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Jorge Nobre de Sousa.

During the festivities we were present at the site to make our identity known and promote it, as well as the needs we heard while visiting the exhibitions and talking to the marines, sailors, navy pilots, maritime police, lifeguards, security guards... it was without a doubt a day to remember and a day of much learning about the oldest navy in the world, our Portuguese navy!

The cherry on the cake was being able to see the NRP training ship Sagres moored at the Lima River quay with the NRP Viana do Castelo and the NRP D. Francisco Almeida as a backdrop, moored on the other side of the river, icons of the navy that do not go unnoticed and make one imagine the achievements and what it means to be Portuguese.

Serving Portugal at sea for over 700 years.
